Steel belted radial tire firestone steel tx radial a/t lt245/75r16 separated at highway speed of 65 mph. Driver maintained control of vehicle but truck wheel well and bumper and body of truck are damaged. Driver recovered steel belt fragments from freeway and tire is available. Firestone has requested we send tire to them. Five new tires will be purchased to avoid additional incidents. *jb
